Front Nine

 Front 9

1st Hole1st Hole   The Glen   348 Yards Par 4
Start out your round on an elevated tee overlooking a narrow fairway.  A small stream runs down the entire left side of the fairway and behind the green.  There are wooded hills on both sides.  A small sand trap guards the right side of the green.
Second Hole2nd Hole   The Bog   429 Yards Par 5
Again, the tee area is elevated.  The tee shot is through a narrow chute over a bog, opening to a wide fairway.  The fairway is uphill from the landing area to the green, which is guarded by a sand trap in front.  The green is tucked and elevated.  The approach shots play longer than the yardage.
Third Hole3rd Hole   The Valley   356 Yards Par 4
Another elevated tee overlooks a valley.  There are woods along the left side of a sloped fairway.  A well-placed tee shot leaves you with a short iron to an uphill green.
Fourth Hole4th Hole   The Hill   150 Yards Par 3
This green is uphill from the tee.  There are sand traps on both sides of the green in front.  There is a small gorge on the left of the green.  This hole plays longer than the yardage.
Fifth Hole5th Hole   The Prairie   349 Yards Par 4
This is a straight hole with a wide fairway.  The fairway slopes left to right.  The green has sand traps on both sides and slants from front to back.  Here is a chance for the big hitters to grip it and hit it.
Sixth Hole6th Hole   The Trail of Tears   445 Yards Par 5
This is the hardest par 5 on the course.  Bogey and Double Bogey are real possibilities.  The fairway is level up to 260 yards from the green.  Woods run down the entire right side of this dogleg left hole.  The left side is a mixture of woods and rough.  The second shot on this hole is crucial.  There is a pond at the 150-yard marker and a stream that crosses most of the fairway at the 100-yard marker.  Your second shot can be a lay-up just over the pond and short of the stream or it can be a 180-yard carry over the pond and the stream.  The last 100 yards of this hole is slightly uphill.  This hole gives you many options in how to play it.  Par is a good score here.
Seventh Hole7th Hole   The Ridge   343 Yards Par 4
This hole is a slight dogleg left.  A blind tee shot that will kick to the left will leave you with a short iron shot to the green.  There is a sand trap on the right front.  Some trees on the right side of the fairway may come into play.
Eighth Hole8th Hole   The Pond   141 Yards Par 3
A tee shot over a pond to a large green.  The green breaks more than it looks.
Ninth Hole9th Hole   The Heartbreaker   398 Yards Par 4
This is the toughest par on the course.  A slight valley leads to a long 170-yard uphill green.  The fairway is wide.  There is a sand trap about 15 yards in front of the green.  This makes the green seem closer than it is, leaving many approach shots short.  Par is an excellent score here.

Back Nine

Back 9 Holes

10th Hole10th Hole   The Hilltop   319 Yards Par 4
This hole is sharp dogleg right with the green sitting on a steep hill.  The green slants back to front, leaving you with a tough putt if you are above the hole.
11th Hole11th Hole   The Hill & dale   431 Yards Par 5
This green sits upon a hill and is reachable in two with a good drive.  The fairway is an undulating dogleg right.  The green is elevated and guarded by a single sand trap.
12th Hole12th Hole   The Gambler   288 Yards Par 4
This is a risk/reward hole.  You can hit anything from a short iron to a driver off the tee.  The hole is drivable from the regular tee, but there is a risk involved as the hole is a dogleg right with a large gully along the left side of the fairway.  The green is tucked into a corner.  This hole also has a great view.  On a clear day, you can see the Blue Ridge Mountains off in the distance.
13th Hole13th Hole   The View   141 Yards Par 3
There is an elevated tee overlooking a chasm.  The green is guarded by a deep sand trap in front.  Once you are on the green, be sure to look back at the tee.  The view can be awesome depending on the time of year and the sunshine.
14th Hole14th Hole   The Landing   286 Yards Par 4
A sharp dogleg right, this hole requires a precise tee shot to a small landing.  A short iron to the right side of the green is all that is left.  There is a deep gully running along the entire left side of this hole.
15th Hole15th Hole   The Long Climb   412 Yards Par 5
While it is short on yardage, this hole is long in playing.  It is a dogleg left and uphill all the way.  The green is surrounded by a gully on three sides making an accurate approach a must.  The green can be reached in two if you hit very good shots.
16th Hole16th Hole   The Chute   322 Yards Par 4
The fairway is straight but, because it has hills on both sides, the tee shot usually requires a slight fade.  The green is elevated and undulating.  This is the start of the three best finishing holes you will play anywhere.
17th Hole17th Hole   The Lake   154 Yards Par 3
This hole can be tough, as there is no bail out area.  It requires a 150-yard carry over water.  The tee is elevated and the green is carved out of a hillside.  A short tee shot will either be in the water or on the side of a very steep, unplayable hill.  A long tee shot will put you on a hill above the green with very little chance of a par.
18th Hole18th Hole   The Home Hole   355 Yards Par 4
This hole is a dogleg left with the second shot over a pond to an elevated green.  A draw on your tee shot will leave you with a second shot of about 150 to 180 yards.  The fairway runs down hill from the 150-yard marker down to the 100-yard marker.  This could lead to a downhill lie, to an elevated green, over a pond.
